I could help you, but... What are you looking for? Hotel? camp place? Hostal?

Cáceres is a very beautiful city, with a lot of places to stay.

Mérida is another beautiful city with a lot of history from ancient Rome...

Both cities are on "your circle", but be aware that they are at least at 700 km from the point you have marked as "A".

We are traveling from A to B. In a car with a bike on a trailer. I'm not going to make it in a day so looking for a cheap hotel to stay in on the way down. Hoping to make the circle in one day and then carry on to B the next day. It's me and my lady friend who is going. We used to use the F1 in Madrid, but I now see that it is closed.

In Cáceres...

Hostal Al-Qazeres cost more or less 35 €

Hotel Don Carlos Cáceres cost 48 € and of course it is better than the first one.

If you need anything more here in Spain, don't hesitate to contact with me.

Good luck John :-)

John,
In addition to hotels.com, you can try these sites:
https://www.airbnb.com/ - private rooms and apartments, used this site a couple of weeks ago in Granada, works fine!

Booking.com: 341,320 hotels worldwide. 23+ million hotel reviews.

My experience in Spain was that if you book a room the same afternoon as your stay, you can get a nice room to an even nicer price.

Good luck :)

I am away at moment and always rely on booking.com. Never fails to find what I want where I want. Brilliant app for my smart phone too.

Thing's have change. As the hotel I was looking at is now full. So I have got two more maps for you.

The first one is through Madrid, the other is a straight run. I'm looking at something under 40 euros if I can get it. Must have parking for the car and trailer.

I'm looking at this place.

It's on the way. But it's the top end of my budget. At 50 euro a night with breakfast. What ever you get for breakfast.

I stayed years ago in Hotel Don Carlos in Caceres.

It's a really nice small hotel with an excellent location to visit de city center. I think it did not have its own parking, but probably they could try to arrange something.

Keep in mind that Caceres downtown is a World Heritage site and really worth a visit, even at night, I recall it was nicely lit. A chance for a not-so-well-known wonderful place in Spain.

Just roll into any town and stop at a bar/cafe witha big car park. Take in paper and pencil and ask for a 'pensión' and/or 'hostal dos estrellas' (two stars).

The thrust the paper and pencil at your host for him to write it down and draw a map.

The chances are they'll ring to get you a room and show you there :)

Enjoy

Simon

+1 for booking ahead, if only by a few hours; don't just pitch up at the door because then you will get what is known in the USA as the "rack rates".

+1 for booking.com
Their own search system, i.e. on their website, can be used in various ways - the one I tend to use is based on a map for the area of your interest; on there will be indicators for all the available hotels for that area that deal with booking.com. They show up in accordance with your own preferences.
Give it a go!
