Motorway Vignette to be introduced in Slovenia

A rather expensive vignette system is to be introduced next month in Slovenia. To ride on their motorways it will be necessary to pay around 17 euros, for a six month vignette, and a minimum of 35€ for other vehicles.

This is just for motorways, all other roads will still be free, but unfortunately the ring road around Ljubljana as well as the highway from Trieste to Croatia along the coast (approx. 15 minute drive, with no alternative route!), will also require this vignette to be bought. Apparently they are hoping to cash in on all the transit holidaymakers traffic...

Vignette

This permit cost me 7.5 Euro for 7 days in June 2011. Not a great expense and available at most fuel stations.

That's right....after some knuckle rapping from the EU they introduced weekly vignettes for all vehicles.
I can confirm that a bike Vignette costs 7.5€ now, and can be bought in any petrol station in the country, as well as in neighbouring countries as you approach the border.

Seems like a bargain compared with Switzerland which at the current rate wants 40 CHF for the vignette to ride their major roads. This is understood to apply to their motorways and other routes, but not sure which!
Can someone rap their knuckles because this charge covers a whole year even if you are just passing through in a matter of a few hours + it seems to be the same charge for a car as for a bike.

We rode through Switzerland from Germany heading to Italy, i didnt realise a permit was required :( Italy was ridiculous at around 9 euro for 2 1/2 hours motorway riding at tolls!! We never required one for Austria as we used non motorways. At our border crossings to Austria and CZ the next sign after the border sign explained the requirements in pictures. I started looking for these from then on.

Hi! I live in Switzerland, the vignette is only required for highway, and I never bought it for my bike.... Was never stopped until now... But I have it on my car... The fine is 100 CHF and then an aditionnal 40 CHF to buy the vignette, but it's possible that now the fine is 200 CHF.... At least they were discussing to higher it!
