Motorcycle chain/lock/disc alarm near Amsterdam

Last night I saw a couple guys testing the security of my motorcycle out front of my hotel in Amsterdam. Thinking that they may be back with a van while I slept, I moved it to an underground garage for the night to keep it away from these guys. I'm convinced that I won't always have access to secure parking on this trip so I'd like to buy a chain and lock or possibly just a disc alarm.

Can anyone recommend a place to pick up either a chain and lock or a disc alarm near central Amsterdam?

Thanks,
Jeff

If I were you, I would buy a chain and lock AND a disc alarm.

I ended up picking up a bicycle chain and lock from an outdoor market yesterday and then put the moto in a corner that made it difficult to spot. Then I chained it to a canal railing and it survived the night.

Thank you for the suggestions.

Get a good chain and padlock; they are worth the money.

Be very careful... your bike is all you've got on the road and thieves WILL open and take anything they want. It's worth getting a very good chain and the best padlock you can find, but you must be prepared to spend some serious money. This all goes to your advantage, because a padlock that costs a lot of money will simply not be picket. When a thief wants to learn to pick a lock (nowadays they pick them more than they cut them), he or she will have to get one to practice on and if it's expensive there is no chance. Also chain wise try to get something with big links, like 19 mm so that it cannot be cut by hand. There is a very good chain made by Almax in the UK which is the only one they were not able to cut in a test. I wrote extensively on the topic, have a look:
