Hello from Serbia!
Yes, you need green card as Serbia is in the Interbiro contract. So you are insured
If you're entering from north from Hungary via Subotica, the tolls are as followed:
Subotica - Novi Sad 12 euro for a van/camper
Novi Sad - Beograd 12 euro
Beograd - Nis 35 euro

so it's not cheap...

Fuel cost: leadless petrol 1,2 euro/liter; diesel 1euro/liter

Road conditions are very good but not worth 60 euros......
All the way you have a lot of restaurants, petrol stations, motels. Serbia is very secure and safe for travel. I assure you. As it is transit country for many foreigners traveling south to Greece, Turkey, etc. Don't worry about safety.
Speed limit for van is 80km/h.

This can help:

Very helpfull Rista, another question, the prices of the Serbian tolls are shown in the "putarinas" boxes?

Roads seems to be quiet good.

I am going to Turkey. Do you think is better to drive thru Macedonia or Bulgaria?

Thnxs again and Merry Christmas

To Turkey definitely through Bulgaria. It's much shorter:
Route finder, route planner, directions, journey planner, itinerary, map directions, route finder uk, ViaMichelin
Drive on highway all the way south. Just before Niš turn to Pirot and further to Bulgaria border.

As for tolls "putarina", yes they are expensive and you are category III and the higher rate as you are foreigner... they are shown in local currency "dinar".
The exchange rate is about 80 dinars for 1 euro.

Happy trails and Merry Christmas !!!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
