Inexpensive Accommodations Near CDG (Paris)

I'll be air shipping my DL650 from Vancouver, BC to Paris on June 30 and staying at a friend's place in Mons while I'm in Europe this summer. Unfortunately my flight gets in at about 6:30pm Paris time and Customs will be closed, of course, so I'll need a place to stay the night. Any suggestions?

I have heard that F1 motels are decently priced, if you are 3 people...

Otherwise you could borrow a lonely planet guide on the library and look in it.

Or look at Hostels & Youth Hostels Worldwide - Online Bookings

Sry thats all I know.

They are not too far apart - maybe a couple of hours by motorway and the CDG airport is on the north side of Paris, the same as Mons: so maybe your friend will pick you up and get you back there the next day?

Alternatively, you could try here:-
Hotels - Hotel reviews from people like you - Welcome to hotels.com
It should show up various grades of hotels in order of pricing.

Or, you could contact a local community, over there on the left of this page.

What Walkabout said :thumbup1: Mons - CDG about 2 hours. If you must stay then look for hotel Campanile hotels in the area. Cheap and comfortable - better than Formula 1 in my opinion . Always have in house restaurants which serve good food and very reaosnably priced. You should find a Campanile for about Euro 70 p/night - cheaper at weekends.

Gecko - 70 euros is expensive! Twice the price of Formule 1, and thats not great value....

I use Campanile a lot but they are generally out of town so you do need a vehicle to get to them.
Similarly priced are Ibis and they are generally in a town - Ibis Hotels: book a hotel online for a business trip or a vacation

I agree, I find 70 Euros per a bit steep. I know Mons is only 2 hours north, but that equates to 8 hours (two round trips) and a tank of gas for my buddy. I'm not about to ask for that when it's much easier to just bag some badly needed sleep in a hotel. Great ideas, though, fellas. Thanks! Keep 'em coming!

Yes both Ibis and Campanile as mentioned above will cost around 70 euros per night although probably around 60 euros at the weekend. For that you get a clean, own bathroom, easily bookable room. As it happens I don't find it expensive myself.
You could opt for an F1 room where the room will be half that price but bathrooms down the hall don't do it for me I'm afraid.
Or you could try and find a privately hotel run room that might be say 50 euros but then you've got to find the thing.
You pays your money and you takes your choice as the saying goes.
Enjoy, whatever you do.

Ibis and Campanile are 2 stars hotels. Formule 1 is cheaper, rought but for one night it is ok.

What you have to check is how to get to the hotel from your specific terminal, some hotels are accessible by the free light train (VAL), the suburb train (RER), by free shuttle buses.

Book a hotel online with Accor Hotels to book online Formule 1 , Ibis ...
