Hi Dave

Off to Spain for a month in Sept to include the Pyrenees. Never been before. I am thinking Andorra and Catalonia look favourite. I'm not a motocrosser but I enjoy a good trail.
Could you post details of the top geezer you found? In fact any info you have that would assist in having DR350 style fun in that area. I'm thinking of - best areas, relevant maps, accommodation options etc. Owt you think might be worth passing on really. If you find a minute between now and Sept 12th to share any knowledge, that would be great.
Thanks

Do you run a GPS? Map Source? That sort of thing?

If so, I can provide you with enough trails and tracks to keep you riding your DR for quite some time (read : months) over there. No moto X stuff, just hours and hours of TOP quality LEGAL trails....

The maps you want come in a number of sizes. There are the standard type of 1:25k and 1:50k like the UK OS system, but really you have to carry to many of them to make them viable.

A base mapped GPS system is probably the best bet together with a Rough Guide Map of the Pyrenees and Andorra (Amazon). Its about 1:800k, waterproof and pretty much indestructable. With these two things and a set of waypoints the world is your oyster!

Make sure you stop into Andorra De La Vella for ALL your biking needs. They have more bike shops per 100Sq/m than I have ever seen. You'll get ANYTHING you need there for bike or rider and its all tax free and bloody cheap. As for accomodation....CAMP!!! Its free and so beautiful there why would you not!

The Mechanic I finally found was near Barcelona, about 150 miles south of you, so I'm afraid that wont be a great help, but I have details of the Andorran Suzuki dealer if you need them.

Have a great trip, ride safe,

Dave

Hi Dave
Thanks for the reply. My partner on this trip, Lorenz, may well be in touch re. GPS etc.
There are two of us going. Taking a Transalp, Africa Twin, DR and XT 350s and a van of course. The plan such as it is, is to park the van up and head off into the hills. I would be happy to see as little of the van as possible. The Hondas are for transport on days off and to explore some of the less challenging tracks, maybe a trip to Portugal.
Thanks again
