Germany in October

Hi there,

Me and my friend are going to Intermot in October 2014. How is the riding conditions in Germany in October? We planned to go from Hamburg to Köln.

Should be ok to ride.

If you're lucky, you'll have "golden October", which can get very warm and sunny.

On the other hand, very low temperatures and snow are not unknown, but not very likely, not in northwestern Germany anyway.

Cheers

Hi Eivind:

I agree with what Lars wrote.

Intermot takes place from October 1 to 5, so, the odds are in your favour that you will have satisfactory weather for riding. Rain is uncommon at that time of year... but, if you are unlucky, it could be a little cool, especially considering that you are coming from Norway.

However, as Lars noted, if you are lucky, it will be sunny and you will enjoy delightful riding weather during the daytime hours.

My experience at that time has been superb warmish weather. The country is beautiful with the change of the season. If you can , pass through the Harz Mountains which is superb at that time of year
