France in May

Booked my ferry tickets today, decided to do a ten day trip to France on my 2005 Bonneville. Taking the Hull to Zeebrugge ferry on the 20th May and returning Calais to Dover on the 30th May.
Doing this trip on my own, friends who said they wanted to go have not been able to for one reason or another. I intend to head from Zeebrugge to the Millau Bridge, travel along the Pyrenees from the Med to the Atlantic and then down the Atlantic coast.
Any comments would be appreciated, better still anyone in the area like to meet up.

You'll love it in France. Check previous similar posts like yours. You will get loads of ideas here so I'll be brief.

Near Millau, visit Les Gorges du Tarn nearby. Camp there, look around, enjoy.
In the Pyrenees, visit le Cirque de Gavarnie, near Lourdes. Check your maps for a quick ride over the mountains from Gavarnie into Spain and Ordesa - a stunning canyon which is a national park where they say camping is forbidden.

Oh yes! Get your bike blessed at Lourdes if you're superstitious.

If you're near Carcassonne, don't miss it.

Bonne route

PS - people always drop out - so you're right to go yourself and have fun..................

your trip to France

Hi, quite a few things to see in France.
Just a couple of tips. First, be careful with speed limits. There are a few new radars that catch the rear plate of the bike. In France you can ride in between the cars, not like in the UK. Try to ride the National and Department roads, much nicer than the motorways.
If you are going through it, visit the Loire Valley and do not miss an incredible village called Rocamadour in hte south, not far away from Millau bridge.
I will be riding in Corsica from 1st till the 8th of May.
Have a nice trip.

We topped up our Land Rover rad with holy water - you can get it just about anywhere in Lourdes - and it seems to have worked. Not broken down or been caught in a radar trap since

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
