http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_1_112.gifhi all,apologies if this subject has been covered before,but a word of warning if rideing in germany.just got back from a roadtrip to switzerland,and was told by my friend there about the use of ethanol in the fuel in germany.switzerland is not affected,but at fuel stops in germany super unleaded e10 is to be avoided! this petrol damages fuel lines/plastic etc. plus clog's carbs up.he even advised not to use 95 octane super unleaded,as this could be contanimated,but to stick with 98 octane super unleaded instead.hope this has helped.happy days.

most of what you are mention is right, but the main issue why "the Germans" as the ordinary folk, don't want to use this crap is that you get less out of you mileage, this E10 fuel is less effective and cost the same or more in the long run, you have to top up your tank more often, and than it's getting costly compare to the so called "super Plus 98 octane"... well the other reason is that the new E10 fuel is indoctrinated by the Government... who now can't figure out why "the Germans" as ordinary folk don't do what they are told to do... we.. as the ordinary German don't want to be told any more... :rofl: the whole E10 and the "E5 Super 95 octane" is in reality not as environment friendly than what the Tosser up in Berlin want us to believe... :thumbdown:

We have this shit in France also and you are likely to get much reduced mpg out of it. Even my Enfield dropped below 90 mpg :( For that reason I switched to 98 octane as it is cheaper to use.

according to honda my transalp will be fine with the E10, it was only bikes pre 1990 ish that are not and most manufacturers have a list available. here's the honda list, in german (nein = don't do it, alle = all models fine, ab xxx = just from year xxx). hope this is helpful.

this is just on the "will it be okay" argument, i take onboard what spooky is saying and agree also.. various boycotts in place and some forecourts running out of regular 95. if the price of super 98 is not much more than the e10 then i'm going with the safer option..
