Question Disposing of a bike in Turkey

My wife and I arrived home from a 2 month European bike trip a month ago and already I have got itchy feet and I’m thinking about our 2012 ride.
The current plan is to ride from the UK, across France to Marseille, ferry hop to Corsica, Sardinia, mainland Italy and Greece and then tour W. Turkey. The question is – what to do with the bike when we finish in Turkey? The trip up that point will have taken about 5 weeks in May/June – which is about our limit as we have to be in Australia soon after. We may have to fly out from Istanbul.
I am thinking of advertising on the Hubb for someone who would be interested in buying in Turkey a 1994 Honda ST 1100 Pan European with UK registration (until Nov 2012), panniers, topbox, tankbag, etc, all set for a ride back to the UK or wherever. The bike will by then have done about 35,000 miles and currently has a full service history and is in great condition. I would probably be looking for about half of its then UK market value, i.e. about 1,200 sterling and we’d throw in the helmets, jackets, gloves, waterproofs etc, if of use to the buyer. The Honda dealership at Milton Keynes who recently serviced it said they hadn’t seen one of that age in such good condition and they valued it (using Glass’s Guide) at 3,300 pounds with double the mileage.
I’d appreciate any comments on whether Hubbers think I might have a chance of finding a buyer in Turkey. I wouldn’t like to think that I’d have to just dump it with a wrecker. I’d rather shorten the trip, put my wife on a plane, race back to the UK, and fly from there.
Also, would I have any problems flying out of Turkey if my passport shows that I entered with a motor vehicle? On previous trips to E. Europe my passport has been stamped at many borders with a picture of a car (though we have been on a bike!) when I have entered and left. Do they do that in Turkey? Is there a problem if I enter on a bike but fly out without it? At least they don’t require a carnet – so there isn’t that problem.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
