Has anyone toured there?

If so, do you have any suggestions as far as accomodations go...names, addresses, phone numbers, URLs?

Yep, Corsica is great.

My suggestions for Corsica (If you are going in summer) is to rent a place in the centre for the duration of your stay and explore from there. Saves money and hassle. Places can get full in summer. Otherwise take a tent.

In spring and Autumn many places close and the weather in the centre can be miserable. So, either set yourself up on the West Coast (East is flat and swampy in places, not so interesting). Or, find places as you go, there are plenty.

Beware of crazy driving (particularly on Friday nights), animals on the road and theft.

We did cruise through Corsica during summer 2003, and was veeeeery hot! Carry a tent, no problems in finding good campsites, otherwise, hotel accomodation is expensive, as usual in EU. As beddhist said, focus yourself on west coast and do explore small mountain roads from the coast inland, especialy to Asja and area around Mt.Cinto. Roads are narrow and courvy but with realy good grip, so motorbiking should be a real pleasure if you keep yourself on the right side of the road! Be very careful on small roads, drivers are crazy, I had several tricky situations, luckily all went good for me.

Corsica's easy, lots of French motorcyclists seem to treat it as a playground. Many ferries, easily booked in advance on the web if you want.
Campsites good, but everything goes up in price (a lot) in tourist season, especially restaurants etc.
Inland around the mountains is great for riding, good (narrow) roads, well maintained.
West coast is nice, but the narrow road on the coast gets full of coaches, so you need to look out - the road is really not wide enough for them, and had a lousy surface in '03.
Can't comment on Sardinia, sorry.

Thanks for all the information and tips, but I'm still looking for actual names, addesses, phone numbers, etc. of hotels and B&Bs that YOU'VE stayed at while there, so that I can enter them in my Palm for future reference. I don't camp anymore.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB.
