Cheap Motel or B&B in Northern Germany

Myself & another bike are travelling up to Sweden in early August this year & are travelling from Dunkerque to the Fehmarn ferry crossing to Denmark. We are looking to stop overnight somewhere near by, don't want to camp if we can help it as we then are then heading Jonkoping Sweden the next day.

I have tried a few but it seems it is holiday season & they are booked or don't like bikes!

Can anyone help with other suggestions..
Route is Antwerpen, Essen, Dortmund,Munster, Bremen, Hamburg, Lubeck & Fehmarn.

Thanks in advance
Martyn

Cheap motel or B&B in Northern Germany

Hello, Martyn, I saw your question, I don,t know if I can help you but the German motorcycle magazine Tourenfahrer has a special about motels and hotels where bikers are welcome. I have a few adresses a bit north of Lubeck:
1:Herberge Zur Alten Ziegelei
Bei der Ziegelei 15
D-23730 Bliesdorf/Gromitz
tel:04562/6724
Web:www.herberge-zur-alten-ziegelei.de
2:Haus Schwanensee & Cafe Lohse
Plonerstrasse 15-19
D-23715 Bosau
tel:04527/99700
Web:www.schwanensee.com
www.wohnen-schlemmen.de
3:Hotel Hoheluft
Hoheluftstrasse 32
D-23758 Oldenburg in Holstein
tel:04361/49930
Web:www.hotel-hoheluft.de
There is a special price for them who comes on a motorcycle in Hoheluft, but that won,t be a problem for you.
Hopefuly I helped you out, and have a nice trip.
So long.
Chris.

I haven't toured the northern half of Germany but try looking at those links at the bottom of the first post on the Alps Motorcycle Tours - Priced Right thread.

Scroll down to the Where To Stay - Motorcycle Friendly Accomodations section. There are well over 1000 listings amongst those links.

Thanks for that Richard, I hadn't considered the Youth Hostels but it would save us money on an overnight stop & most of the Hotels seemed to be either booked already or very expensive!

Cheers Martyn

Accomodation in Germany, Denmark and SWEDEN

Search for DJH Germany for hostels all over Germany.

For Denmark search for DANHOSTEL, I think it also covers Sweden.

They are relatively cheap and very clean.

Good tip on the Youth Hostels... and I recommend you book ahead. Ibis is usually clean and cheap and often in the major cities you're traveling through. I will look for my motorcycle friendly hotel book for Germany. I can't seem to find it right now. I also like traveling with the Lonely Planet. Often good tips for lodging on the cheap -- and of course, sightseeing tips as well. There is also that network of "couch surfing". Some people in my office travel and stay for at private homes/apartments. And get this, for my -- and likely your -- favorite price, free!:thumbup1:

Try Gaestehaus Sulsdorf in Fehmarn-Sulsdorf, phone 04372-611. Or check their website: /www.gaestehaus-sulsdorf.de/

Seems to be in German only. Check "Preise" and scroll down to "Zimmer". Includes brekkies.

Found this in another thread.

Alps Motorcycle Tours - Priced Right - Sport-Touring.Net

"Where To Stay - Motorcycle Friendly Accomodations

Here is a listing of motorcycle friendly accomodations.

Tourenfahrer Partnerhaus Download and save the PDF file and print it out. Note the GPS coordinates as well; I have found a few that are way out though.

Motorrad Freizeit Motorradfreunliche Unterkünfte Motorrad Freizeit Motorcycle Friendly Accomodations.

Biker Hotel Guide There are hundreds to choose from, so I think anybody that is going is well set.

By the way, Tourenfahrer and Motorrad Freizeit are German motorcycle magazines similar to RoadRUNNER in the US."
