cheap europe bike hire ?

Hi im wondering if anyone here can point me in the right direction. im moving to the UK for six months at the end of this year and would like to spend 2-3 weeks on a bike touring between switzerland / france /italy/ spain. I will be going to up with my gf so we will need a bike which fits two comfortably for long hauls so were looking at cruisers and touring bikes mostly. Also i dont mind which country including the Uk to hire from im just looking for the best deals. I will only be 22 and will have been riding for 2 years by that time so im aware that it cuts out alot of the rental places.

If anyone who knows of good deals or where to go can give me some advice it would be greatly appreciated.

You'd do well to give these guys a call:

BMW Motorcycle Hire UK, BMW Bike Hire from RideOut Rentals - Ride Out Rentals

They operate R1200GS & F800GS, all are available with full luggage including tank bags plus they have low seats available if needed. Rates are competitive & they also offer a delivery & collection service if needed.

Alternative to hiring

Hi Kambo

Steve has recommended a good company to you, but the only problem could be the hire charges. As an option to hiring, I can offer you a good alternative, which I have done for a few Aussies and Kiwis over the last few years.

I sell you a bike at a little over trade price, you do your tour and then on your return I put the bike up at a retail price. We service it, renew any worn consumerbles, like tyres, brakes pads, chains, sprockets etc and then give it a good valet.

The profit made will cover these costs, my commission and you will either come out a little on top, evens or down a couple of hundred quid.

I'm based near Banbury, Oxfordshire and we can pick you both up from the station, you are welcome to stay the night as our guests, have a few warm s and then head off on your adventure the next day, after a good old English Breakfast to get you on your way. Great!

By the way, do you know the Suzuki dealer in Perth, as he is the brother of a good friend of mine who I've met when he's been over to the UK.

Hope this helps and if you like the idea, e mail me and I will send you some pics of fully loaded bikes that are ready to go for between £1,500 to £2,000. Can also sort insurance for you and the bikes will have UK road Tax and MOT.

Cheers

Chris

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
