Campsites In Turkey

Hi Guys
I originally posted this thread on Middle East section without luck.

I am planning to spend next spring/summer in Turkey focusing on SE and S West(already traveled in North and East).

If anyone has particular recommendations for campsites I would be pleased to get details.

Camping in SE and SW Turkey

Hello Tony,

Does SE means South East Turkey?
I would stick with secure and tested hotels/hostels. I need to admit that tripadvisor which grades the lodging places with comments is a good source.
(I also need to admit that I am not aware of any camping sites at SE Turkey).
Unless I am in a large group I would not ca at SE Turkey.

Now abput SW I guess tis means South West Turkey, anywhere after Adana Mersin towards Side Antalya. Side Antalya is very advanced in tourism you can find pensions bed and breakfast for very reasonable prices. I would check those first. If you are on the Toros mountains I assume you can easly pick you camp site and pitch a tent.

I am not sure what time of the year you plan on travelling but summer is rather hot at SE and SW Turkey. I was in Antalya last week with 45 degrees heat. Very low humidity but still hot.

I will try to chec with fellow bikers for any further suggested camp grounds. Have a safe trip.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
