Camping San Sebastian/Pyrenees, Picos, Santander etc
 

Off down to Northern Spain at the weekend for a jaunt around the northern end. Coming in from France but catching Santander ferry back. Want to see San Sebastian, the Picos and the northern coast.

I've picked a bunch of campsites off the web but am keen to find out if anyone has any personal recommendations.

So far I'm looking at the following sites:
Camping La Isla - Picos de Europa
Camping Playa Arenillas
Camping Itxaspe
Camping Playa Joyel

Camping Erratzu in the village of Erratzu near the French border may be of use on your way down. It has good facilities (cafe, shop, bar, pool, etc) and is in a really pleasant setting in the foot hills of the Pyrennes.

Camping La Isla in Potes is a good site although I haven't stayed there myself. It gets very busy with lots of kids around the pool so the advice I was given was to go as high as possible on the terraced pitches. There is another site further down on the right but it wasn't recommended to me. the roads around there are legend.
