Brno Moto GP

Myself and several mates are planning on going to the Brno GP in the Czech Republic in August, and spending a week or so getting there and back. This is the first big trip we are planning and were wondering if anybody has any advice on what to see on the trip, anythings to do on the way, everything really,

cheers Ian:scooter:

Sorry for not replying sooner but I was hoping someone more helpful than me would respond!
I haven't actually been to the Czech Republic so can't offer any help there. Suggest you look through some Rough Guides (or similar) if you are after seeing particular places of interest.
However, if you just want to get a general feel for the place(s) avoid the major roads! It takes longer but you see loads more. Also, allow enough time in the evening to find a local place to stay rather than a chain hotel etc.
Don't know what route you are planning but would suggest a southerly detour and spend some time in the Alps - fantastic scenery.
Hope this gives you some ideas!

Its a good trip and the GP is good though a little out of town.

Be aware that on race weekend the police like to collect fines. Keep your bike papers and passport on you (on the spot fine).
Don't drink at the races. Got breathalysed on the way back from practice at 4pm. Negative, though I don't know how after the 4am session in the strip-joint.

Other than that, its a great weekend.

Recommend a return via Vienna.

So long as Rossi wins it will be a great weekend;)
