Exclamation Advice and or help - Madrid/Spain - not bike related

Excuse for the not bike related posting but as we are all travellers i hope one can give me some advice or help.

This is the case : 2 polnish girls (17 & 18) are stuck in Madrid and it looks like i am the only one in western europe they know and trust.

One of them just phoned me telling that they are in big trouble. The 17 year old is 'arrested' by police for not being 18 years old and hold 'prison' in a youth hostel till one decided what to do.

The bad part of the case is that the girls are now separated and if the judge decided that the younger one has to go back home (probably by plane) the older one has to get back home alone.....

The decision of the judge will be tommorrow, after that she has to make a plan according to the decision.

I am in the south of france on friday and she can ride back to Holland with me, from there we organize transport home (my wife is polnish). But in the worst case she should go 1000km alone to reach me. (as i am working, i cant drive towards them.)

In the best case scenario they will get out both and continue travelling.

Anyone has some advice? Anyone near Madrid (aranjuez) with some connections ?

If you can help pls text me at 0031611308908

Again, sorry for the offtopic....

First question that came to mind is, do the parents know? I suspect they do if a court has anything to do with it. It's really best left to the powers that be. The other girl is over 18 and able to travel and I suspect you're being a little over protective. Unless you're known to the family - I'm guessing you're not - I'd save myself money, time (and sanity) and steer clear. I say this as a father of three grown-up daughters who still gets blind-sided on a regular basis.

Just my thoughts for what they're worth. Best wishes.

Problem solved.....

Yes their parents knows about it. And yes i know them personally.

It was not a matter of allowed to travel alone, but affraid to travel alone. She was felt very lonely and apparantly i was the only one she could phone who would understand their problem without pointing at them saying "i've told you before....".

Can you imagen, 2 close friends suddenly separated in a country far away from home where the don't understand anything.....

Anyway, they can move on tommorrow or monday as they get paperwork from their parents that they are allowed to travel.

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
