Bike hire - Kas,Turkey

Any of you seasoned travellers know of anywhere that hires trail bikes in Kas, Turkey? We are off for a couple of weeks in May this year.

Regards,

David

Hi David,
We were in Kas, in oct,2002. It is not really a very big place. There is a honda dealer there,Kahramanlar motor center, but I expect that he is mostly marine, with a few scooters, but you could try and contact them. We stayed at a good place called pension Korsan K (pirate black cat)friendly owners with a great terrace view & 15 million per nite. The boat tours to Simena/Kekova are wonderful, go to the dock and haggle with the Captains not the tour agencys.
The other places that might hire bikes are in Antalya or Fethiye but both are a days ride away. You could fly into Antalya rent there and ride to Kas, with a stop over at Olimpos, with a great stony beach called Cirali and right next to the Chimera or burning rocks, which are the stuff of legends. Cheers, Cameron

Hi Cameron,

Thanks for the info. This will be our first time in Turkey. We have previously travelled extensively through Western Europe, Hungary, Poland, Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia and Goa. I have read various guide books on Turkey and have been impressed. Did you find Turkey favourable for biking in terms of the friendliness of the local population, scenery, sights to see, cuisine, weather, etc. I realise that most of this is subjective.

Regards,

David and Juliet
