Wrap around heated grips

At the recent UK NEC bike show I saw some heated elements that just wrapped around the normal handlebar grips. They seemed a neat idea but I can not find any info about them on the net. Any one know who made them or even any one bought a pair

I have seen some in a Aerostich-catalog, HTTP://www.aerostich.com

There is also a dutch company selling them. I only have a email adres:
info@splashdesign.nl

These things interest me too. Anyone who knows if they are any good?

I have a pair on my Kawasaki KLR650. I don't know where they came from but have seen them in the local shops here in Chicago. They work pretty good although when I bought my KLR (used) the grips were installed but not wired. I had to buy and wire the switch and resistors myself. Comforting to have on a chilly day.

Hey Kurt,

What do you mean with a 'chilly' day?

Actually I can choose between heated liner gloves and the wrap around models.
The wrap around model is in favour because I think they will last longer and make the 'diameter' of my grips bigger besides warm up my hands. That way I won't have to fold my fingers that much to get a good grip. I am thinking that at the moment the combination of winter-gloves and having to fold my fingers around quite small grips is cutting off the blood from my fingertips. Or at least severly hindering it.
Am I the only one who is having this problem?

Just to let you know:

Giali UK heated wrap around grips: 80$ for the full set. (on the web site)
Aerostich Riderwear, exactly the same thing as far as my eyes can tell: 47$
(in the catalog you can order on there website)

Yeah,

The Giali stuff does look expensive. I tried those heated wrap arounds at the bike show last year. Boy do they get hot, too hot to hold by bare hand. I'd reckon you would need a thermostat.

I like the look of their cargo pants but at 100 bucks?

When i discovered the grips were already on my bike, they didn't have any controls and had not been wired. I went to a local electronics store, bought a couple of high watt resisters, a small waterproof box and a switch and mounted the lot. Two temp ranges and off. Not the most efficient in the world as it draws the same current for high and low, but it works.

fireboomer-yes the aerostitch kit is cheaper than the giali, but once postage and customs get involved i would`nt be surprised if the prices were equal!i know a guy who got a set of carb needles for his hardly ableson for 16canadian dollars, and they cost him 80GBP because of UPS postage and british customs!!
redstar-giali cargopants for 100dollars?send me some mate, they are 100GBP here, and they are made in this country, for f***s sake!
