tires again!
Hello. Dont worry Im not looking for a tire that does everything, as we know that does not exist!!!!
Im moving to a place called Forsinard in North Scotland at the end of october. Its all single track road there, very pitted, lots of loose gravel. There are also lots of dirt/gravel/hard packed sand type tracks there which I will be using alot, proberly more then the single track roads. Also a month or so after I get there the snow will start to fall. I have been looking at the Enduro 3 Sahara front and rear, but Im not sure if these will be agressive enough, they do look pretty good though!!! I was thinking of maby using the Enduro 3 Sahara on the rear and putting something a wee bit more agressive on the front? It will be quite rare that I get onto any proper tarmac roads. Any info on sugessted tire combos would be great!!! Cheers! |
My current favourite trail tyres are BF Goodridge "Crossengo" They are a road legal E-marked motocross tyre, very open tread with tall knobbles.
Little bit wobbly at fast road speeds but great on anything else. Cost about £70 per pair and I use maybe three rears to a front. |

The saharas will be fine. If you're riding anything sizeable (i.e. r1200gs, or ktm 990) you may want a dunlop d908rr rear, and mt21 or tkc80 front. Most offroad tyres for the larger bike SUCK HARD on the tarmac over here. |
