Tank Bag Options
 

Looking for a tank bag for my F800GS. Am seriously considering the Enduro bag from bags Connection. Anyone able to share experience with that product?

It's crap getting tank bags for the F8 isn't it? Plastic tank, key in a funny place. I ended up using velcro to attach a baglux bag to my tank.

Two long strips of heavy duty velcro up the tank, and having cut the shoulder straps and standard mounting fabric off the base of the baglux, two corresponding strips stuck to the bag base. It's held firm for the last 5000 miles, through rain shine and crashes.

If I hadn't inherited the baglux when I bought the bike I'd have gone for something slightly smaller and cheaper - once you don't have to worry about the attahing method you can choose any bag you like.

Not sure about your tank design but WOLFMAN Enduro bags fit almost anything.

Also have a look at Kriega.

+1 on the Wolfman stuff. The Enduro tank bag is kinda small but fits my bike really well, on a f800 I'd get the next size up (the explorer).

do you have hein gericke shops in canada? they do a couple of enduro tankbags for odd shaped tanks, the larger one fits my varadero well but the magnets in the base are not very strong. not a problem for you of course, and it also comes with straps

I have a Wunderlich tank bag and love it. The harness stays on the bike, and attaching and removing the bag is then very easy. Good size, expandable, useful pockets, map pouch, ticks all my boxes. Tried a BMW tank bag but it was very rigid and unnecessarily large. The Wunderlich expands if required but is compact otherwise.

Recommended.

I use Kreiga luggage on my fireblade back and front, and with the special tank strap either a 10L or 20L bag sits comfortably and secure on the tank with no magnets or velcro needed.

Easy to get on and off for refuelling etc with just two pop-buttons once its rigged up, and the strap can stay on the bike when you take the bag off if you want.

As I'm considering the same bike as you (want to get off sportsbikes onto dual road/adventure for a big trip next year with a few HU members) I'm aiming to keep the kreiga stuff and switch it over.

Thanks everyone for the advice/input. I ended up ordering a Rainier tank bag from Wolfman. I wanted something that was large enough to carry essentials close at hand, but not too large so that it interfered with standing on the pegs or handlebars during tight turns.
