Tubeless Wheels

What do people do to repair tubeless tyres? What equipment do you carry?

I bought a DL Vstrom which has tubeless tyres and now I am thinking how do I repair punctures? I am going to be travelling from Los Angeles through Mexico, Central and South America.

Cheers
Maurice

The same tire repair methods you'd use for auto tires.
Sticky strings to repair a hole.
Also patches can be used on the inside of the tires.

I suggest a small 12v air compressor.

Spray can repairs.

What is the success rate when using the aerosol (sp) puncture repair kits ?
I also have a vstrom and am carrying a "spray can" puncture kit and hope that I never need to use it, but surely they can't be totally useless ? Obviously they won't fix a slash or rip, but maybe a nail or screw puncture ?
I have heard that some expensive Euro sports cars don't carry spare tyres, just spray cans. Are some brands better than others ?

Tubes

You could also carry tubes for tubeless tires. It's a quick fix until you can properly fix the puncture. Especially in incliment weather next to a busy road. Make sure that the tubes or of the proper size and that they are designed for tubeless tires.

Most motorcycle shops have a tubeless repair kit. It contains all the necessary equipment and comes in a convenient carry pouch. Travelling through the places you mentioned, I would get extra patches, glue, etc. Cyclepump makes a pump that connects to the battery and makes filling tires quick and easy. Although a little pricey, in my opinion, makes sense in remote areas to get you on your way faster.
