Secondary chain - automatic lubrication

Hi
use anybody automatic lubrication of secondary chain, e.g. Scottoiler or another system
on enduro - asfalt, sand and mud roads
is it better than spray or not ?
and the life of chan is much more longer ?

thanx

I use one on my raod bike. Good for the lazy! You do have to keep an eye on the flow rate however as with temp changes the viscosity alters - giving faster flow rate at higher temperatures.

Tip for travelling - you can use normal engine oil rather than the scottil stuff. Cheaper and more easily available.

I used to use the spray on stuff for years. Eventually got a Scotoiler and never looked back. Dead simple, dead quick and pays for itself in no time through having t replace fewer chains as they DO last longer.

Tip: Chainsaw oil is really good in them - the non-fling stuff and available anywhere with trees. Any oil will do if you can get what you want though. I used extra virgin olive oil once, no problems.

Has anyone used the cheaper chain lubricator - it's called Lubeman or Loob man or something like that. Just a bottle and small bore line to chain. Give the bottle a squeeze and oil gently dribbles onto chain. Simple and cheap and it seems to me you don't really need the constant drip feed of the Scotoiler. At present I oil my chain once a week with gear oil and this worked for many miles on my Honda VFR 750.
My only concern is that the plastic bottle looks a bit cheap and might dump its' contents all in one go. Bad for tyre grip!Any experience?
