Puncture Safe

Does anyone have any experience with Puncture Safe Puncturesafe total tyre protection ?

Apparently it addresses some of the issues of similar products for preventing punctures (Ultraseal, Slime etc), particularly around max speed.

Looks like a great product on the website, but looking for some real world experience.

I had Ultraseal in my SM wheels for my old Dominator. I don't believe I ever had a puncture, but if I did, then the stuff obviously worked. I use slime in my push-bike tyres and that has paid off. I think they are worth having in tubed tyres: less so on tubeless, IMO.

I also used those valve cap pressure gauges ato save the hassle of checking , but I removed them when I heard stories of the added weight damaging the valves when the wheel was spinning fast and centrifugal forces could cause valve failure. Never happened, but did not want to find out the hard way.

The valve cap indicator things are,in my professional opinion, dangerous (and are illegal in Germany where thay actually pay attention to such things). I would never trust any dynamic O-ring device to either seal fully or fail to stick when under a differential pressure. Get a digital or bordon type gauge or wait for a bike with TPM.

The tyre sealant stuff sounds to be an improvement over glycol and rubber and as these work to a degree I think this sounds OK. I used Ultraseal and it sealed the first few holes. The last one was in the seam of the tube and resulted in a slow deflation. The reason I don't use it now is that the gloop stops patches sticking. I'd say fine for UK/European use when you don't carry any tyre kit except an RAC card, not good for off road or out of the way places.

you should check your pressures pretty often anyway so im not sure that puncturesafe gizmo is so useful.
i do have experience of ultraseal and punctureseal in all my tubeless bike tyres, and i would never do without it. i know the goo makes it hard to put a patch on but since these products seal holes for the life of the tyre its not a problem for me, and that includes a hayabusa rear that regularly got up to silly speed.
if ever there was a hole too big for the sealant to fill i would replace the tyre anyway because anything that big has damaged the plys. i work on an industrial estate and am forever picking up screws and pop rivet tails. ultraseal leaves a little pink dot when it comes out, my record is nine punctures in a bridgestone020 rear on my triumph.
my bikes with tubed tyres have all been a lot slower, trail bikes and supermotos so ive never bothered with it in those. a HD tube is only a few quid if you you cant patch it.

True, but a second or third HD tube is a lot of bulk when heading for places you can't buy another tube. One tube in and the other repaired with a patch and put back in the tool kit can be maintained almost indefinately.

Puncturesafe is the rebranded name of Ultraseal.

I haven't heard of any changes in its chemical properties.

oh right, i thought it was just those gadgets that go on the valves. in that case then, i have definately used it and it definately works, but i have never used it in a tubed tyre.
