Prepping a 2000 Honda XR650L

Hello everyone,
I'm the proud owner of a new Honda XR650L. I absolutely love the bike, as I'm an ex-motocrosser and hare scrambles rider now looking to do some long-distance touring off road. I'm new to this!

I would like to know if anyone can point me to any companies with good reputations that make saddlebags and any other equipment that might be suitable for very long trips.

Finding skid plates, large fuel tanks, and those sorts of things has been easy, but I haven't found anyone yet that makes accessories that aren't racing-related.

Thanks all!

Hey, I know the answers to this one for a change..... ;-)

For soft bags try Ortlieb's drysacks -- 100% waterproof and 100% simple. Try their site at http://www.ortlieb.de/ or get them in the US through http://www.aerostich.com/riderwearhouse.store.

Tim Bernard in Boise, Idaho makes superb side and tail racks for the bike -- http://www.happy-trail.com/.

Good luck!
