KTM ADVENTURE CLUCTH CABLE

Does anybody know of any heavy duty cluth cable for a Ktm Adventure? I have broken two in less than 2500 miles, and the second only lasted about 500 miles (both of the original ktn parts!); a bit worring if you are thinking about crossing a whole continent with the bike.
what about a conversion to a hydraulic cluth, is that feasible?
THANKS

I have heard reports of failures as well.

As a precaution, I have run a second clutch cable in parallel to the first with the ends unattached and sealed off.

This will allow me to swap to the new cable in less than 10 minutes, since the cable threading is already done.

A hydraulic clutch is available for the 640 LC4 motor. Price is 250 USD. It is available over the internet from Holeshot Racing in Ohio, USA. Web addy is http://www.ktm-racetech.com/

Remember that a hydraulic clutch will not provide you the redundancy of dual cables.

Cheers,

I HAD ALSO PROBLEMS WITH MY KTM 620 EGS CLUTCH CABLE. IT WAS BROKEN TWICE IN 5500 KMS. THE ONLY SOLUTION I FOUND IS CARRYING SPARE CABLE CLUTCH WITH ME.

Sounds to me like the quality of the original factory cables is defective. If you keep a clutch cable clean and lubed it should last thousands of miles through normal use.

Can't you take the cable to a local motorcycle shop and have a spare custom made? It should be fairly easy to find someone in most cities who can make up a cable; try asking at any shop that repairs old British bikes.
