Jesse's Quick-Click Luggage System

They are rather new I guess, but I was curious if anyone had any experience with the Quick-Click system discussed here:
Jesse Luggage Quick-Click
I had a similar idea for both the panniers and top case attachment a year or so back rather than a traditional attachment but dismissed them as too weak. While I don't doubt the shear strength of the system it seems a though any side load could rip through the attached aluminum luggage. The ease of removal and aesthetics when the cases are off (if perhaps coated black to match the bike) are defiantly appealing... Any firsthand experience out there? Comments?

Will try to check them out this weekend

I am living about 5 miles from Al Jesse's shop. I have been trying to get there to check them out for the past few weeks but hopefully this weekend I will finally get there. Look for an update next week.

Also do a search on advrider.com as there is a report on the new luggage there.

Jessee quick connect

I looked at the new quick connect at the BMW rally in Wisconsin a few weeks ago. It looks like a nice system. I wish I had gone with the Jesse system rather than the BMW stuff I got with my new bike. The BMW is nice stuff but the Jesse will hold more and getting it painted is better I think now that the plain Aluminum. The plain aluminum gets black on everything that rubs against it and I leaned my arm on the top box one day talking to a guy after I had just done some work and was all sweaty and the sweat kind of stained the aluminum. They also show fingerprints and everything so easy that the Jesse would be better I think. Just my 2 cents worth.

Checked them out today

Having a need to replace the Jesse bags on my 1100GS (Sold the others in the UK $$$) and having some engineering concerns on the new mounting / bags I decided a recon trip (all of 4 miles from home) was in order. So I went over to Jesse Luggage today and checked out the Quick Click's and the new boxes. (Just a bit of background info. I have worked for about 20 years in engineering and mining equipment maintenance including running machine shops.)

My summary is that they are a well engineered piece of gear that will serve the designed purpose successfully as well as allow for interesting alternative luggage mounting and quick turn around when new bike models are released.

I would be happy to use them myself. In fact for most of my touring I don't think they will need the other 2 stabilization points the existing 1200GS mounts have (Rear near the tail light and just in front of the quick click). If I was still running across the Aussie washboard roads the 3 point lateral load sharing may be helpful but for most stuff I have seen in North America the Quick Click by itself can handle the load.

As soon as they are available for the 1150/1100 GS's I will be retiring my old Jesse bags and grabbing a set of the new style and mounts. I will also be looking at the possibility of using the quick clicks to mount alternative top boxes (and possibly pelican side cases for my commuting duties).

Also Al was a nice guy to chat with.
