honda xl650v hard luggage

hi HUBBies. I'm trying to get some genuine Honda panniers for my transalp 650. Sadly, the accessories have been discontinued so not possible to get from them and no luck so far with other sources.

So, the panniers look identical, so what chance that the rack for a later model - say XL700V - will fit (or can be made to fit) my 650?

Thanks for all suggestions.
