Home-made Alu Panniers From Aircraft Meal Boxes

Hello all here is another (aaah got it right!) attempt to share pics of my home-made aluminium panniers with you--

These are British Airways in-flight meal boxes holders, ( on aircraft the meals are stacked inside these on slots ) NOW on a BMW R850R, I used HEPCO AND BECKER FRAMES and TOURATECH fittings, I bolted the touratech round fittings to them when they were in the correct position on the bike..they are very very roomy, can be locked with a padlock through two aligning holes on the rotating clasp that the stewardess normally uses as the door handle to get the meals out..!
They are very strong, light and double-skinned....not 100% waterproof so everything is kept in strong plastic bag liners inside...they have been fitted facing opp directions so that the top opens outwards on the bike..we used them this summer and they were fab...!P.S. After prepping them I sprayed them silver to disguise their origins..! Name: Web fotos aluminium.jpg

Interesting idea, thanks for the pics.
How did you get them off the plane? Did someone else distract the flight attendants while you stuffed them in your carry on luggage?
