gps bracket - what's the difference
 

I own a gps 60c and what to fit it to my ktm adventure.
I had a look at the touratech website and are interested in the handlebar brackets the have but do not know what the difference is between the 'handlebar bracket garmin gps 60' and the 'handlebar bracket garmin gps 60 lockable'. As the last one is a bit more expensive, I would appreciate it if someone can help me.

the lockable one locks the gps into the cradle so you need a key to get it out, the other just has a spring loaded arm that holds the gps in. dont waste the extra cash, you should never leave the gps alone on the bike whether locked or otherwise and some bastard will have a go with a big screwdriver, and the lock just makes it a pain in the arse every time you stop.
the touratech cradles have rubber shock absorbers but the 60c is a tough little thing, look at RAM mounts and garmins own cradle.

on www.rammount.com they have a mount wizard which you tell your bike make and gps model and it tells you what you need from their (massive) inventory, they also do made up kits for the more popular combos.

Garmins own bicycle clamp ive used it for about a year and a half and a couple of thousand km's even endoed the bike once. It works and is cheaper than the others (TT and ram) Just be sure you hardwire the GPS to the bikes power.
