Fiberglass tanks - experiences?

Experiences & adices about fiberglass tanks?
I had only one - a french-made 20 litres that still sit on my XT500 from 1984 ..but I got a lot of critics from mechanics that stands for aluminium ones ...

Hi Giorgio,I have just obtained a fibreglass tank for my Tenere.It was built by a company called Motoforms and I think this is a french company.I bought it second hand and it was supplied with no petrol taps so if yours was built by the same company do you know if they use a standard tap?.Also do they still exist? (the tank is mid-late 80's)and do they have a web site? because I can't find anything.

On my Ducati 750 roundcase the imola style fiberglass tank was punctured by the handle bar when I dropped it. The fiberglass shattered spilling petrol all over the hot exhausts and engine. The petrol was steaming off the bike. I almost didnt try to pick the bike up as I thought it would explode! Was an easy repair though...
