Conti TKC 80 and rain ?
Hi,
I have heard some rumors and opinions that reflects on poor grip of TKCs
in rain and in slipery conditions? Any quality expiriences ? Thx!

I didn't experience any probs in rain. IMHO the TKC80 is one of the best 'multi-purpose' tyres that perform well on dirt and on sealed roads. Not for extreme conditions though.

That tyre is in my opinion a great tyre for sand and loose gravel, but be very wary in rain on sealed roads :-(

Hi,
Deserts are 18 inch tyre, I need 17 inch rear wheel. I used
to ride on Michelin T63, somekind of Deserts for civil use- T63
is fantastic in slipery conditions same as on asphalt, but wears
quickly and are iritating "soundy", so I would try to use something
similar in offroad pattern. Here is popular Mitas E09, also very good
tyre and very cheap, but my expiriences in wet are also tricky.

You can get Desert in:
FRONT
90/90-21 TT 54R

REAR
140/80-17 TT 69R
140/80-18 TT 70R

Desert is not a wheel suited for wet tarmac.
I usually get 10kkm from a set MT63, and find it pretty good on most surfaces. It's a bit noisy at high speed, like other knobbies, but with earplugs it is okay.

that Michelin dealer said to me.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB.
