Cleanable Oil Filters
Has anyone tried one of these? and if so is your engine still ok and how easy is it to clean?
I like the greeness and space saving but it's not the best time to test a new bit of kit. They have them for Adventure's, LKR650's and DR350's at http://www.dual-star.com/index2/Bran...l%20Filter.htm |

I have an SRC filter for my XR650L that I really like. It looks pretty much identical to that one they're showing.
I haven't had any trouble with mine, and several sources report that these are far superior to paper filters. I like the fact that I never have to carry or find spares. Cleaning is easy - I use gasoline or hot water and dish soap in a clear plastic container (an empty large water bottle works well). Keep rinsing and agitating unti lyou don't see any more metal bits settle out into the water, looking up through the bottom of the container. I got mine here: http://www.srcinc.net/ Cheers, Wright |
