Hi,
Put this post in this forum as it's a bit generic and sort of equipping the bike. The exhaust header pipe on my Beta Alp looks to be made of plain steel that is painted. In an effort to prevent it corroding or at least to make it easier to keep clean I'm considering chrome plating it. Anyone know of any problems in doing this e.g. motor running hotter? If it's relevant the bike's motor is a 199cc air-cooled Suzuki 4-stroke. Also: if anyone else has done something similar and can recommend a chrome-plating shop in the UK please let me know. Thanks in advance. Last edited by Ian; 7 May 2006 at 21:05. |

One issue with chroming... welding en-route becomes more difficult if you should be so unfortunate to have your exhaust snap or crack.
