BMW R1200GS spoke wheels!

I am in Hong Kong and unfortunately bought a GS with the standard alloy wheels 1 year ago. I now want to upgrade to spoke wheels for a trip accross Asia and HK BMW want to charge me EUR2,800, USD3,500!!!! for the rims. Any idea how much this cost in the EU and the US? Any names of some people who would ship these over to HK?
Thanks

If money is an issue then have you checked eBay.com and eBay.de for second hand spoked R1200GS wheels? They're very strong, if there're no dents or bent parts on the rims then the s/h ones are as good as new IMHO.

Try looking in the BMW tech section for information. For instance, you might want to join in this thread:-

Personally, it is these sort of prices that put me off BMW, the big bikes anyway!

Good luck,

Thanks for the advice. I just found a pair of used (but very nice looking) rims on ebay. I'll bid for it and see if I can get my hand on them.
I agree I can't understand BMW ONLY charges eur360 when it comes with the bike and then eur2,500 when you buy it as accessory. This is ridiculous pricing policy.
