bmw r1150 gs - non leaded petrol ??

A simple question. I own a bmw r 1150gs and it drinks green petrol which obviously is not available in large areas of eastern europe and africa etc, how do you get round this ? are there fuel conversion kits on the market ? i cant risk using normal petrol as it will damage the catalitic converter.

thank you

Went to Central America in '97 on a R1100GS. Prior to leaving(had same concern) I put on after market exhaust(no cat converter) and just unplugged/removed the oxygen sensor. Worked fine except when you roll off the throttle you keep getting fuel and can get some loud "pops" from exhaust. Got some attention in Honduras... Turns out there WAS unleaded in CA. No mobil 1 however. Still have the R1100, but its a heavey bike for that type of traveling.
