Baffled by Tyre Choices!!!
Looking to do a 6 month tour of S America next Feb on a '88 BMW R100GS, 2 up and fully loaded.
First trip, so have no real idea (except from what I've read) of what to expect re: terrian and what we are going to encounter, and as such am having trouble with all the info contained in the tyre survey thread as it appears you need this basic info to enable a sensible choice. I am intending taking only the set of tyres on the bike (I had assumed tyres would be available in big cities, is this realisic?)and would like to get off the beaten track/off road where poss (and as much as you can 2 up and fully loaded) but suspect I will be mostly on roads of some sort? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
