That seems rather poor mileage, particularly for the rear. I've almost used up a pair of Michelin Anakees on my DR650. They've done 15000 km so far and there is still life in them, especially the front one. 99% tar and not much luggage, but quite a bit of commuting.
I'll try a pair of Mitas next, cheaper and said to last at least as long.
