Anybody used Trelleborg Army Specials?

I'm off on a big trip this summer (www.moto-hike.co.uk) and am thinking about using these trelleborg army specials or the Continental TKC80s. I've worked out a schedule that allows for 4000 miles from a rear and 8000 from a front. Anybody used the Trelleborgs and will they do this, i believe the Contis will. Oh yeah, we're using TT600R's.

Extra Information! We expect to be riding on about 50% tarmac and 50% dirt through South East Asia and India/Pakistan/Iran/Turkey

That seems rather poor mileage, particularly for the rear. I've almost used up a pair of Michelin Anakees on my DR650. They've done 15000 km so far and there is still life in them, especially the front one. 99% tar and not much luggage, but quite a bit of commuting.

I'll try a pair of Mitas next, cheaper and said to last at least as long.

TKCs are a god tyre for grip on dirt roads.

You may find Mich Deserts last longer ... if they are available in your sizes.

Anakees and tourances will last longer still but won't perform as well in the dirt.

The reality is - when youâ€™re in a foreign place you will have to take what is there, or can be got within a week. Unless you can arrange for tyres before you get there ... like about 3 weeks if youâ€™re having them posted out. About the same time frame if youâ€™re getting someone to get them there for you.

I use them all the time for trail riding and they are good in the way there not bad on road and also last better than most others. I've not used them on a larger bike though but i wouldn't say they would last that well. Mich dessert are the best but you need the power of 10 men to get them on and off, there also twice as much.
