Which 17" tires for C/S America?
I'll be riding my Suzuki SV650 streetbike south of the border in a a few months, to go as far as I can and then return. While a dual sport would be ideal, at the time I have this paid for bike and it's begging to go.
My question is tires. What would be the best choice in 17" 120/60 160/60 tires? I'd like to be able to venture down bad dirt roads and such, but not lose too much longevity if I end up mainly superslabbing. Any other tips for getting this bike, which has 60k miles on it, ready for a such a trip? Thanks! -Dan |

Hi There,
I've learned from off roading experience on my GS400 (street standard) that the Dunlop F11 front tire is a nightmare! This tires tread has grooves all around the radius and when you hit stones you glance off of them in unpredictable directions. I think your best bet for dirt roads is a tire that has a block type tread. Steve
