They seem like nice bits of kit I'm especially interested in the Helmet

Has anyone seen these in the flesh, or better used them?

Went to have a look but I don't speak Dutch!

They look okay but I have never actually picked one up. Have a look at the thread below, it discusses cheaper makes of helmets. My argument is that some of these cheaper helmets are in fact better buys than the more expensive designer makes...

I use the BMW Enduro helmet, which I understand is made by Uvex.

It's comfy, light and very well made.

I can't speck Dutch ether, I just like the pretty pictures! :mchappy:

Tried on the Uvex Enduro/Full face helmet the other day, it looked great but seemed to be made for those with long thin head shapes and was too tight at the sides for me, but maybe that's a head thing, not a helmet thing.

I'm having trouble tracking one down in the flesh. Plenty of dealers are stocking UVEX but not that model. Which makes me wonder why no one is stocking it??? a new model perhaps? no good?

It looked good to me, but I must admit, I've not got much to compare with, I'm a total newbie when it comes to helmets, the only other one I own is a cheapy from a French supermarket. Put it this way, it looked as good as the other Uvex helmets.

I reckon though they're a limited market being neither fish nor foul, great for the adventurer, but too expensive for the cheapo "crosser" on his 50cc, too "cross" for the sportsbiker, and too odd for the scooter-rider.

Still who knows perhaps all the GS wanabee Ewans will buy them when they see the Arai's price.

I'm looking at a Enduro style helmet because I'd like to "think" i'd need the ability to use googles. Realty may very well be different. From a look perspective i come from a MX / trail riding background and I'm used to the look of a MX helmet and think the road helmets look fugly -Not really important at all but these enduro "tour - X" type helmets fall into my price range and you can take the peak off anyway - best of both worlds. or... The only danger i can see is these helmets are doing 2 different things - possibly well but not great;

Wind noise on the road ???
Excessive weight off road.

Whats the windnoise etc like with your bmw helmet? you seam quite happy with it?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think Uvex stopped "officially" selling helmets on the UK market years ago.

Going by Uvex's reputation for safety equipment, they're a well established brand that I would trust to make a quality product. Purely from a sizing point of view, I'm not sure it's such a great idea to buy a helmet on the internet. Better to visit one of their stores. I've bought from them before and highly recommend them for good value and service.

I've seen them online for a bit cheaper in NL. @ Motorgoedkoop motor onderdeel onderdelen handschoenen I agree totally about sizing though - I've asked a shop to order one in for me to try on.
At this stage, having not yet seen the UVEX I'm proberly leaning towards the Airoh S4 from the point that there are a few people around that have them and a couple of reviews and all say good things about them V's the UVEX which I've found no reviews or personal experiences with it.

That louis.de site does appear to have some good bargains that pop up form time to time so well worth a watch!

Although I'd trust the brand, they are a bit of an unknown quantity. HJC are worth a look. Well established in the USA and good value.

I bought the Moto-Detail 3-pc soft panniers and top bag last year. Can't go wrong at the price they're asking. Find the product you want on getgeared.co.uk which is in English, then go straight to the Louis website which is usually cheaper for exactly the same item. They're the same company so if you can understand a little German, you may get a bargain.
