Tyre Irons

I need to buy a set of tyre irons. Any advice on what to look for in a good tyre iron? And has anyone had any good/bad experiences with particular tyre irons?

Cheers

Thumbs up

Hi fridayman,
Those with a lot of experience of changing tyres by hand say that if you need irons longer than 200mm then you are doing it wrong!

Anyway, here's some reading on the subject:-

If you make your own search within here, using your own chosen key words I reckon you will find more threads on this subject matter.
Happy reading and welcome to the HUBB

The best ones are those that your practice and use before going on a trip. Those work great.

It doesn't matter if they're made from popsicle sticks or unobtainium, they all work.

OK, so where do I buy some "pre-practised" tyre irons? LOL

I've seen irons that are 8"'s and flat, 15"'s and curvy, 10"'s with a handle...

A couple of people on here recommend the Buzzetti 200mm irons (come in a set of 3 with a ring to hook onto spokes) - I think I will go for these.

Thanks for the advice.
