Sidi Vertigo Air
 

Has anyone used these boots. I am considering them for my RTW tour as a compromise between Walking boots and Full MX boots.

The venting looks great, my only concern is cold feet when its not so hot. To overcome this I will take some Waterproof motorcycle socks. Opinions please ?

The standard Sidi Vertigo comes with an Air vent, is this sufficient ?

I have been wearing a pair of Sidi Vertigos for at least two years. They are comfortable, but they can blister for the first couple of months. They have very very little wind or water resistance. The boot itself is semi waterproof if you keep it well cared for, but the top flares out to get around leathers. This means that unless you have a very fatty calf, you won't get a good seal, and your boot will turn into an expensive bucket.

They do get cold in chilly weather, but it is nothing a good pair of socks can't stop.

They last excellently, and all the plastic bits can be replaced, which exends their lifestyle further. The sliders are made of cheese though, if that matter sto you.

They DO squeak like crazy for a few months, and the only things that really helped for me, until they were broken in, were sunflower oil and vaseline.

They're a semi-racing boot for sportsbike riders and you wouldn't want to walk any real distance in them.

I've had mine for about 18 months. They're the standard Vertigo without the perforated material.

Like the man said, they're semi-waterproof but I've not had any significant problems with water getting in. I've done 500 mile days in them and never really noticed them being cold or given me blisters but they do squeak a lot, though not as bad as the Sidi Vertebra.

Overall, I think they're a great boot but you probably need to look elsewhere for your needs.

I am wearing a pair of Corsa Sidi boots at the moment...Joe's Travels for pics.

They are not waterproof, have thin soles which wear out, your feet get cold, they crash badly (mine are destroyed after a 40mph slide), they are comfortable enough to trot round town with, they are safe in a crash.

Thats my verdict, wouldnt have chosen them if i could buy again, but had them from bewofre the trip so thought 'sod it'.

They arent bad!

I like the look of the army style boots, be great on and off the bike. My only concern is in the past I had a low speed spill off road and smashed my shin on the pegs, Fxxk it hurt. Was wearing walking boots.
