Seat modifications - bliss!!

Anyone who rides an F800GS will well know that the seat is hard and unyielding after a few hundred clicks.
I met a guy at the HU conference in Kenilworth a few months ago and he recommended I contact John Moorhouse at Ergo Seats in Brisbane Qld Australia, where he’d had his seat modified.
I'm a pretty tough task master and to call me a perfectionist is a huge understatement. The job John did was spectacular!!! It was well crafted, he listened to what I needed and the end result was like something out of the factory (but better) – it looks like a bike seat should too! The material was high grade, waterproof and non-slip (is used on jet ski's) and the stitching was spot on. He can use leather, but takes a lot more looking after – not practical if you are on the road for a while? He used memory foam in it, widening and sculpting the riders seat and raising the front section (the original seat has you sliding forwards - hard on the you know what’s). I store gear on the back half of the seat, so left it as it was. No problems should you wish having the whole seat done though. Quoted cost was $260 cash (not cheap in some ways), but he charged me $250. He guarantees the job and the workmanship and the money has been well spent. I’ll have 2 months on the road shortly and this will make life a lot easier.
John can be contacted on (07) 3245 3979 or 0419 730 589

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
