Ortlieb 89l Rack Pack

guys,

A bit of help. I know these have been covered before, but im looking at the XL, 89l pack. Due you think this is too wide to sit across the back, over 2 panniers?

Will be buying my bike on arrival, so Im planning on the XL Rack pack and medium backpack. I feel the LARGE one will be too small.

For me it works fine, my panniers are much wider (my new Zega pro's are even much wider than my old ones). I just posted a picture in another thread where you can see the setup:

Ofcourse it depends on what trip you plan, if you go into the woods e.g., you want it to be as narrow as possible. But if you also have panniers, they will probably be wider than the 71cm of the rackpack.

edit: I'am quite new to motorcycling, so maybe my opinion is not that valid.

I use the 86ltr bag, it is big, but does squish down, fantastic for access with two rok straps.

It is not wider than my two panniers, so no problem width wise, and my camping chair, tent, sleeping bag and clothes all fit in it.

People do laugh at how big my luggage is but hey ho. It has never got wet!
