Ladder Strap? Bungee replacement?

Hi guys, I saw someone at Ripley last year with some straps holding down their kit down, which were rubber and laddered... no idea what they were called or how much they cost, but figured they would be less damaging to my kit than a skinny little bungee biting into my ortlieb, plus the ladder would allow me to tighten the straps as much or as little as I needed to keep the items fixed. I hate how a bungee is fixed length and virtually always is crushing everything.

If any of you guys know what they're called I'll be well thankful. :D

Rok straps?

25mm Ratchet straps with "snap" type karabinas are the best thing for holding roll bags down to you bike imho !

*quick research*

Thanks Tim Cullins!

Interesting! although, not what I was thinking... they literally were a rubbery belt with slots that you just threaded/buckled back into itself with. I think it had an arrow head that pocked through the slots in order to fasten up. It seems by far the most efficient system.

Out of curiosity, what do you mean by "snap" type? Do you mean a carabiner with a spring-loaded gate, or something else?

Like this I think he meant Master Lock Ratchet Tie Down With Retention S Hook 3109EURDAT Black (L) 5m, 3109EURDAT It looks good but also bulky, ratchets do fail from time to time... and at £10 a pop needing 2 would mean spending £20 just on strapping down an ortlieb.

I saw them yesterday in Costco:clap:

I think they cost about £13 for 8 x 1.5m

You can join them together to make one big long one

Cool FoxBat! I just did a search for my local Costco, it's not really that close to me so I'll be waiting to hear back from the people themselves. They sell it from their website it's only £8.95 for 2. I saw on their website they have it in black but don't give you the option to buy it in black... if not i'll just get them in slime green. :D

If you do get them, maybe you could let us know on the forum what you thought of them :thumbup1:

I nearly bought them but was a bit concerned on how grippy the rubber is!

I'm thinking of using them to strap down my tent a stuff on the back of my bike... normally, I strap everything loosley then pull the straps tight. My concern was that with the straps made of rubber, they would not slide around the equipment very well when I pull them tight... :rolleyes2:

Not sure if I explained this well... hopefully you'll know what I mean :biggrin3:
