I've got a Nolan N84 which has the sun visor over the top of the main visor. I chose this helmet as I was also using black tape at the top of my visor. Even half closed so it's acting as shade, it's effective but you must keep it spotlessly clean if using it fully closed.

I saw some visor strip a few years ago with...

"In the event of an accident, please do not remove my helmet"

... written across it. Seems a good idea to me. Joe Public tries to be too helpful sometimes

peak and visor

The TourX can be used with both peak and visor, just the visor, just the peak, no peak and no visor, EIEIO
(with thanks to Old McDonand)

JCBP, I used ordinary black plastic electrical tape for the strip

Hi All, Thanks for all of the tips and points made, I have now got a 30mm strip of black tape on the top of the outside of the outer visor and this has transformed the helmet - just the same effect as the peak on my Tour X. Out of interest one of the reasons I bought the new helmet was that the chinstrap on the Tour X was getting frayed, I mentioned this to the sales guy at Hein Gericke and he has sent the helmet back to Arai who are replacing the strap and checking out the rest of the helmet FREE OF CHARGE! Result!! The helmet is about 2 and a half years old and been worn for about 25,000 miles.
Cheers Mike

if the helmets not certified to use without the chinbar locked down why do caberg sell a kit to turn it into an open face? (and supply it free with some helmets)

the new shark evoline is dual certified as both a fullface and openface, i'll be getting one soon so the police can kiss my hairy sweaty smelly arse.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
