Heat grips + acerbis?

Do you advice against cutting off extremity of rubber heated grips to fit the acerbis protectors?
Can water penetrate and create shortcut?

Advice very much appreciated.

I fitted Daytona heated grips to my Tenere and cut out centre of grip end to take Acerbis guards with no problems. Heating element seems to be inboard of grip end and under the part you hold on to only.

Most Heated grips do not have ends in so all bar ends can be fitted. Take a look at Oxford Hot Grips or Oxford Hot Hands (these just rap around the grips you have fitted)
