Fuel Tank Extension???

Does anyone know whether anyone makes a fuel tank extension for motorbikes, ie something which could bolt to the fuel filler cap and hold another gallon or 2 of fuel making the tank range greater?
it would be for my aprilia shiver so would need to be universal as noone makes anything for it yet other than aprilia!! tank range is a piddly 110-130 miles, fine for everyday riding but no good for getting down through europe!!

Nup.

There are a few that attach to the rear gard/rack. And some (me and others) have put those plastic fuel cans in back packs and slung them over the fuel tank - one on either side. Those are the universal options - some bike specific options are - larger main fuel tank, side cavers with fuel space built in .. Oh another universal one is a plastic bottle across the handel bar cross brace .. but it is only around a litre... some people put then in bicycle bidons and bolt them somewheres on the bike .. 5 off them would get you a gallon.

I think bolting on to the tank would be a bad idea: just does not seem safe.

If you have the cash, have a look here:

Tour Tank Order Page

They have selection of sizes and you can see how they attach in their gallery.
