Cagiva Navigator 1000 vtwin
 

Has anyone prepared or used a Cag. Navi. on a RTW
I am a little bit concerned as a Dutch company that makes extreme use Luggage, advised me to sell it and buy a 600 XT yam as they think its too heavy( it is 15k lighter than a Tiger) any positive or otherwise coments welcomed. Joe

Weight would only be a factor if taking it off road with the wrong tyres & minimal off road experience.

Spares availability may be an issue though?

I have not do a RTW but my limited Overlanding experince I would take the advice and get a XT600. I am biased both my wife and I ride them. They are far more more robust that a Cavand they are easier to fix with a very good parts back up service. They crash well and go on for ever.

Imagine trying to get Cav bits in Tashkent?

If you are serious about a RTW then an XT600 or a BMW are good choices.

BRAINDEAD did you ever try to get Cagiva bits in UK? my mate waited 18months for a new mirror and that was under warranty!!

i know there have been a few problems with the company and they are supposed to be better now, but mud sticks and a bad reputation takes weeks to get and years to lose, look at SKODA cars, many people remember them from the 80s but they have been making great cars for years now.

GELERT the navigator is a fantastic road/fun bike and that suzuki TL engine is one of the best out there, but its not the kind of thing i would recommend for what you want. if you must go for the 1/2tonne giant trailie thing, look at the tiger, GS and varadero mate. then when you have tried to pick them up 15times in 1mile look at the 650GS, XT600 or KLR and you will see why so many people choose these bikes.
