Auxilliary tanks

Have any of you seen these "auxiliary gas tanks" before? If yes, any idea of the real-life practicality of these?

After finding Tour Tank in this forum, I checked them out. The "satisfied customer" list had one guy not far from home in the states so I had my brother-in-law talk to him. He is really plaesed with his. I ordered the 4.5 gallon one for my machine and will install it when I get home. When it is not needed, just leave it empty. When you need more than my 210 mile range, fill it up and get almost 500 range. I looked at bladdrs, plastic tanks and others but stteled on this because it is durable.

As long as the aux tank is above the carbs ,the fuel will gravity feed to them [Gravity is 100% reliable unlike fuel pumps ]
The top pipe is a vent .
I haven't seen one in real life but the quality of workmanship looks excellent .
Price is good too !

I agree. They look good. Regarding fuel pump, I should have been more specific: Given that I want to install the tank in the top box - should I get a fuel pump because the distance from aux tank to carburettors is somewhat long? Just to provide a nice, even flow?

No, the fuel pump won't be required. The distance to the carbs will reduce the flow rate .. but you probably have more fow rate than the motor would possibly consume at top speed .. it may take a little longer when you run out of fuel in the normal tank to change over to the extra tank .. I'd suggest you use the fuel in the extra tank up first .. it avoidds the problem .. and will give you better ballence faster if you get the weight out of the extra tank first.

I plan on feeing my auxillary tank into the OEM tank instead of to the outflow of the OEM tank. gets rid of it faster and keeps me more aware of hwen I hit the pucker time on the main tank.
